The NW Music Awards Select
"Jazz"!
The recent Seattle Jazz music collection "Rain City Jazz"
was awarded best compilation album. The CD features national
and local recording artists including Darren Motamedy, Tony
Gable & 206, Jeff Kashiwa, Phil Sheeran Korla Wygal, Michael
Powers, Deems, Sonondo, Charles Jones, Cole'Lition, Charles
Certain, and Bruce Jenkins. 206's contribution was "Catina"
(from their acclaimed Seven Hills Album).The Rain City Jazz
CD benefited the NW Millionair Club and to help feed and support
Seattle's homeless. Bartell Drugs, Tullys Coffee, and AEI
were sponsors. |

#1 on the UK Jazz charts!
In October of 1999 Jazz FM in London, England released their
new compilation album (The Soul Of Smooth Jazz vol. 2) and
it has shot to the top of the charts. The 2-CD set features
smooth artists such as, Will Downing, Boney James, Bobby Caldwell,
Richard Elliot, Incognito, Jeffrey Osborne, Kashif, Rick Braun/Maysa,
and Seattle's jazz group Tony Gable & 206. The album was put
together by contemporary jazz and vocal aficionado Steve Quirk.
The 206 song "Undeniable" features former Kenny G lead vocalist
Andre Montague, (this track also appears on the Seven Hills
