Born and raised in Seattle, attended  Franklin HS and Berklee College of Music. Started playing piano at the age of 8 and later started playing saxophone at the age of 10. Studied saxophone with John Jessen in Seattle and Joseph Viola in Boston. Also studied with John LaPorta and Herb Pomeroy in Boston. After graduating spent time on the road in the New England area and also on the West Coast and Canada playing in various band playing anything from top 40, fusion, bebop, funk and swing.

When not playing or writing music I like to work in the garden, ride my bike, brew beer, and cook. (Jacques Pepin is one of my favorite cooks to watch on TV and I enjoy preparing his recipes).
